‘Avengers 2’ Confirmed for Summer 2015, Could Be Eyeing May 1 Release (x)
A few days ago, Variety broke the internet with the announcement that Joss Whedon would be returning to write and direct The Avengers 2. Now Marvel has confirmed that the film will arrive in theaters in the summer of 2015. MTV has gone as far as to suggest that May 1 could be the exact date, though Marvel hasn’t gone that far in their release date announcement.
“Marvel has a very set agenda of what they want to do, they are already kind of ahead of the game [on the sequel] because they’ve got the guy that did it before doing it again and something tells me Joss already has the template [for the film],” the source told them. “In terms of the time frame, I think that it is well in the works. … It looks like the release date might be May 1, 2015, but that can change depending on people’s schedules. The beauty ofThe Avengers is that you’ve got so many people in this that even during the shoot if someone has to do another film they can just focus on [other characters].”
All signs also point to Ant-Man being the third film in Marvel slate of films arriving in 2014 to go along with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Regardless of what the exact release date is, we do know that the film is confirmed for summer 2015 and will pick up from where Guardians of the Galaxy leaves off.![]()

Chris Hemsworth & Tom Hiddleston @ The Avengers Premiere in London 2012
Released by the Alamo Drafthouse’s collectible art boutique, the new posters are part of a series of seven commissioned in honor of “The Avengers.”
For Black Widow, Mondo got famed designer Olly Moss to create the minimalist poster. The striking red-black-and-white print features a profile of Johansson’s face, with her red lips replaced with a gun. The tag line reads: “From Russia with Gun,” a play on both the famed James Bond movie as well as Widow’s origins. Moss has previously designed artwork for “Star Wars,” “There Will Be Blood” and Marvel films “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
The Hawkeye poster was designed by Tom Whalen and features Hawkeye with his familiar bow. (x)
“There may be sibling rivalry on-screen but there is a definite brotherhood off-screen with Chris.”
